Thursday, Oct. 8th, we drove the car north into the Adirondack Mountains. The fall foliage was beautiful
We drove up to Jay to see the covered bridge.
From there we drove to Lake Champlain. We were in New York looking across at Vermont on the other side.
Friday, Oct. 9, it was raining and we decided to drive over to Vermont to check out a few more covered bridges. The Paper Mill Bridge was built in 1889.
The Henry Bridge was built in 1840.
The Silk Road Bridge was built about 1840.
After the bridges, we drove to the Bennington Monument.
We also toured the Hemmings Motor News Museum. The guys really enjoyed that!
Even though it was a rainy day, we enjoyed it very much and were able to see some interesting sights.
Saturday, Oct. 10, we just hung out, doing laundry and watching the OU vs Texas game. That was a bummer since we lost! At least we had a good view from our spot in the campground.
Howard and Danny fished a little after the game. It was catch and release only, but they both caught a couple of fish.
Sunday, Oct. 11, we drove south to Red Hook, New York, to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airshow. This was the last show of the year and the weather was perfect. www.oldrhinebeck.org/
It is one of the largest collections of early aircraft in the world. We enjoyed the show very much.
